About American Canvas and Interiors

Cullen LoweryACI Director of Operations Cullen Lowery literally grew up in the upholstery industry, spending a good portion of his formative years working at family-owned Atlas Fabric & Upholstery in Savannah, Georgia. After serving for four years in the U.S. Navy, Cullen returned to Savannah and took over the helm at Atlas. He expanded the business adding a second work shop and two new retail stores in Atlanta and Brunswick. Under Cullen's guidance, the company established relationships with many of the top architectural and interior design firms serving the hospitality industry, including Mortensen Woodwork and Hirsch Bedner & Associates, the world's largest interior architectural design firm. Accounts served by Atlas include:

ACI FacilityACI Facility Cullen facilitated the company's expansion into the marine marketplace, providing custom installations for many of the world-class superyachts served by Intermarine and Palmer-Johnson shipyards in Savannah. He also developed a relationship with fighting chair manufacturer Release Marine, providing fighting chair cushions and arms.

In 2009, Cullen sold the business and moved to Florida to pursue his passion for triathlon training and coach his daughter for professional triathlon competition. Looking to stay in the canvas and upholstery business, Cullen contacted Dominick LaCombe, president of American Custom Yachts, who was in the process of expanding his new canvas and upholstery shop. LaCombe, also brought up in a family upholstery business, was impressed with Cullen's work and American Canvas and Interiors was born.
